“Don’t count the days, make the days count”
- Muhammad Ali
Staying active is one of the best ways to keep our bodies healthy while also improving our overall well-being and quality of life. At any age, regular physical activity can relieve stress, anxiety, depression and anger. Without regular activity, our body slowly loses its strength, stamina and ability to function properly. Unfortunately, as a society, we are falling short of the recommended amount of physical activity.
It is estimated that (i) only one in three children are physically active every day, (ii) less than 5% of adults participate in 30 minutes of daily physical activity, and (iii) only one in three adults receive the recommended amount of physical activity each week. These staggering statistics explain why 34% of American adults and 16.2% of children are obese. We need to motivate each other and, most importantly, inspire our children to be physically active. Together, we can bring change!
