OUR MISSION IS TO INSPIRE PEOPLE TO FIND A CAUZ TO
SUPPORT AND TO HELP THEM MAKE A MEANINGFUL IMPACT
For decades people have been wearing their support of sports teams, colleges, musicians, and more. We believe now is the time for people to finally wear their support for cauzes. More and more people are actively getting involved with charitable work and we believe it is imperative for them to share their experiences, expand their support and show their enthusiasm.
Cauzwear, started in 2020, is a company dedicated to providing people, most notably young adults, an opportunity to express their interests and bring recognition to cauzes important to them. Much focus is given to cauzes when they are newsworthy or timely; however, we want to keep the attention on cauzes everyday, all day. We want people spreading awareness. We want people inspiring others. We want to keep cauzes in the mainstream on a consistent basis and make it part of the daily discussion, whether in the hallway, at the water cooler, in the elevator or on the street. It is time to make supporting cauzes another acceptable form of self-expression.
We believe there are many ways to support cauzes. While our goal is to provide opportunities for people to express their support, we also understand the importance of offering financial support for our cauzes. Accordingly, we will be donating 10% of the sale price from each purchase. With every purchase made, our customers will get to choose one of three charitable organizations that support the cauz represented by the product purchased. This will enable our customers to not only show their support by the products bought but also by, indirectly, making a donation to the cauz itself.
Many of the top national or global charitable organizations chosen by us are highly rated by Charity Navigator or Charity Watch. However, there may be local, national or community-based charities that are not rated by either organization. Thus, we will make our best efforts to gain first-hand knowledge of the charity, its reputation and its mission before providing it as an option.
The idea of Cauzwear began in early 2018 after the horrific tragedy in Parkland, Florida. Sydney, as an 8th grader, was asked to help coordinate her school’s “walk-out”. She was frustrated, like many others, that the school would not allow the students to leave the building as they were told to “walk-out” into the gymnasium. Wanting to do more, Sydney presented an idea to the Principal about providing every student an orange rubber bracelet which said “#ENOUGHISENOUGH”. The Principal loved the idea. As a result, the school purchased one for every student, teacher and administrator so it could be worn during the “walk-out”. A few weeks later, Sydney saw that the bracelets were still being worn by many. That was her Aha Moment! The concept of Cauzwear was born.
For the next two years, Sydney would spend time figuring out the best way forward to execute her mission. She would also undertake leadership positions with charitable organizations in school and beyond. She further realized there were a significant number of students that want to do more for cauzes important to them. Fast forward to early 2020, Sydney, now a Sophomore in High School, sees the world around her in chaos. Gaining a greater perspective and admiration of people’s passion in supporting others, Sydney was motivated. She realized that people are determined to influence change and Cauzwear could be a platform to support such change. Accordingly, the first Cauzwear apparel, supporting Voting Rights, was launched in October 2020.
